Welcome to the website of Knowle Probus Club

Our club meets every 3rd Tuesday for lunch and a talk at
Knowle Masonic Hall, 1621 Warwick Road, Knowle, B93 9LF

What is Probus?

A Probus club is a local association of retired and semi-retired professional and business men. The name is an amalgam of the abbreviation of the words PROfessional and BUSiness. It started in the 1960s and is now a world-wide organisation.

Knowle Probus provides an opportunity for like-minded retirees to meet over lunch and enjoy a talk, usually illustrated, on a variety of topics.

The Knowle Probus club meets on the third Tuesday of every month. The members enjoy the fellowship of others in the convivial surroundings of the Solihull Masonic Lodge on Warwick Road, Knowle. The members come from a wide range of interesting professional backgrounds and enjoy the camaraderie from belonging to this organisation.

Each meeting starts with time for a social chat and a drink at the bar followed by a three-course meal. A speaker is invited each month to talk about a variety of topics from Engine Building at Birmingham's Soho Works, through Trekking in Everest to Twenty Years Undercover (covert operations at HM Customs). The Ladies are invited to a lunch in July and again in December.
